God didn’t send it to scare you, He allowed it to prepare you

For example, look at when the Lord was about to perform a miracle, before Jesus came in the flesh…

1.      LUKE 1 – Zacharias and Mary (Luke 1:11-20; Luke 1:26-38)

-          Whenever an angel appeared unto them, they were scared at first, but then the angel encouraged them by telling them to not be afraid, or “fear not”, which was often followed by what God would bless them with, which is why the angels appeared to them in the first place

  • Likewise, sometimes we go through things, and things appear to us in certain ways to shape us and prepare us for things to come. This is why the Lord tells us to “not be afraid, for He will never leave nor forsake us, and He will strengthen and uphold us with His RIGHTEOUS, UNCHANGING Hand.” Because He didn’t put it in our path to scare us nor to plunder us, God put it in our path to strengthen and prepare us.

Isaiah 41:10,Deuteronomy 31:6,Hebrews 13:5-8

2.      What I’ve learned and can testify about in this season (struggling with anxiety)

-          Somethings don’t go away, you just learn how to deal with it. And if it does go away, it won’t be gone forever; it will try to come back, and when it does, it may come back even stronger than before. But if the Lord delivered you from it once, He can and WILL deliver you from it again(Numbers 21:34-35). You may not be able to do the same thing that you did last time to overcome it cause it may not work, but just WAIT ON THE LORD(Luke 21:19), lean not unto your own understanding(Proverbs 3:5), follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit(John 14:26; Galatians 5:25), and most importantly STAY IN YOUR WORD(Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 2:15)…. God only allows it because He knows that you have gotten stronger as well. He is using it to strengthen you even more, and HE WILL(that’s a promise) STRENGTHEN YOU(Psalm 138:3), You shall overcome(2 Corinthians 12:9)…. This too shall pass. – PSALM 27:13-14

Scripture that comforts you and helps to release worry/anxiety/doubt,etc.

ISAIAH 55:8-11

8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways
and My thoughts than your thoughts.

10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 so shall My word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to Me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

  • The devil is a liiiaaarrr, yea yea yea yea!!! lol but no seriously!! Focus on the Word of God, which is True and filled with promises that He will fulfill. For He even says that they “SHALL NOT RETURN TO HIM EMPTY.” And “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” In fact, it is impossible for God to lie(Hebrews 6:18). “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV

Everything that God has allowed in your life, He allowed it because He knew it would prepare you for things to come. What the enemy sent to scare you, God used it to strengthen and prepare you for what He has planned for you. What are God’s plans for you? God has plans of peace and to prosper you and not of evil or to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future(Jeremiah 29:11). And He is able to do EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL that you ask, think, or even imagine(Ephesians 3:20-21). So, what must you do to receive these things and apply them to your life? Well, we receive them through God’s Grace not our works, but it is still important that we read to know the word of God and His promises, and to stay in the will of God. What is the will of God? That you BELIEVE in JESUS. So in simple words, just BELIEVE that you will and you will, as long as you are in His will. DON’T STOP BELIEVING, even when you look at everything around you and it SEEMS as though it’s the complete opposite, don’t be deceived. Have FAITH!! “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” “For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,  while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (Hebrews 11:1; Romans 8:24-25; 2 Corinthians 4:17-18)

I find it truly AMAZING how God TURNS the attacks of the enemy around and works it all out for my good.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” - ROMANS 8:28 NIV
